The 2012 V8 Supercar Championship Series will contain a record 16 events, one up on last year.
Several changes have been made to the calendar for this year's series, which is the country's most popular motorsport, with the YAS V8 400 to be run in November to support the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Fans will once again choose between, Ford and Holden, as the two rivals compete for the most coveted title in Australian motorsport.
Jamie Whincup will be looking to win his fourth title in five years after a thrilling victory over teammate Craig Lowndes in last year's championship.
