Casey Stoner may have left a huge gulf in MotoGP ranks, but his absence is a golden opportunity for some of his former rivals to shine.
Riders will line-up for the opening race of the 2013 MotoGP season in Qatar on April 7 and finish the year seven months later, in Spain.
Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo is the defending world champion and is expected to form a fierce rivalry with fellow Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi, a seven-time MotoGP champion.
All the world's best motorcycle brands will compete for the manufacturer's championship over 18 races.
