MotoGP - 2009 calendar
Australia's Casey Stoner celebrates after his 2008 Phillip Island win.

As the premier motorcycling championship, MotoGP brings together the top motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki, Aprilia and KTM, and the world's top riders.

The current MotoGP World Champion is Italian Fiat Yamaha star Valentino Rossi, who won his sixth premier class title in 2008. The championship saw Australia's Casey Stoner of the Ducati Marlboro team, who sensationally won the 2007 MotoGP title in just his second season, finish runner-up behind Rossi.
