The German become the youngest F1 double world champion in 2011, but will face stiff competition to defend his crown from a rejuvenated Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Australia's own, Mark Webber.
There is one new Grand Prix on the illustrious calendar, with Formula One returning to the US for the first time since 2007, where they will race at a brand new custom made track in Austin.
The drivers, teams and manufacturers will compete for the world's most high profile motorsport championships over the long twenty race season.
