It was an epic celebration of British music at the closing ceremony as the Games ended with help from the Spice Girls, The Who, George Michael and One Direction.

Athletes from all over the world partied with one another and celebrated another fanastic Olympics.

As the medals were tallied one last time, the US came out on top with more gold medals and more medals overall than any other country.

Australia scraped into the top 10 with seven gold medals, a dramatic halving of the 14 won in Beijing four years ago.
