Sailor Tom Slingsby has ended Australia's wait for a second gold medal, winning the men's Laser class race at Weymouth Bay.
Australia added another medal to the tally when sprint cyclist Shane Perkins won his bronze medal ride-off. Trap shooter Michael Diamond faltered, from leading late in the final to losing a shoot-off for bronze.
It was a dramatic day at the track, where Sally Pearson flew through her 100m hurdles heats before her rival stumbled and crashed out and the pole vaulters faced rough conditions, which forced Aussie Alana Boyd out of the finals.
