The Games were marred by more controversy on Day 7 with a gold medallist admitting he cheated and an Aussie rower being sent home after a drunken rampage.

But there were plenty of highlights too including a couple of firsts for women — a slam dunk by Opal Liz Cambage and a female Saudi Arabian athlete competing at all.

The Aussies won three medals on Day 7 — silver in the women's double scull rowing, bronze in the men's quadruple sculls and silver in the men's cycling team sprint.
