South African double amputee Oscar Pistorius has been selected to run in both the 400m individual and the 4x400m relay at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Confirmation that he would become the first amputee to compete at an Olympics came with his inclusion in the relay team.

A few hours later the South Africa Olympic Committee reversed its earlier decision and agreed to allow Pistorius to take his place in the individual event.
