Spring Carnival racing continued at Caulfield with the running of the Group One Thousand Guineas for three-year-old fillies.
The barrier draw for the $2.5 million Caulfield Cup was also held with pre-race favourite Glencadam Gold getting a wide gate.
Under-fire jockey Damien Oliver received a much-needed confidence boost, riding the Leon Corstens-trained Commanding Jewel to victory in the Thousand Guineas. Commanding Jewel is a half sister to last year's Thousand Guineas winner Atlantic Jewel.
