Craig Lowndes has launched his campaign for a sixth Bathurst 1000 title in spectacular fashion, with a helicopter delivering his Holden Commodore to Mount Panorama.
The 888 Commodore arrived sporting a new paint-job as a tribute to Peter Brock on the 40th anniversary of his first Bathurst win..
Lowndes broke down in tears on the podium after winning the 2006 Bathurst race just weeks after the death of his mentor Brock in a Western Australia rally.
