Brett Lee has retired from international cricket following his latest injury setback, ending the career of one of Australia's greatest fast bowlers.

Lee battled persistent injuries throughout his career to forge a reputation as one of Australia’s premier pacemen after bursting onto the scene in 1999.

The veteran quick, who played key roles in Australia’s triumph at the 2003 World Cup and the historic Ashes win in 2006/07, finished one wicket short of becoming Australia’s highest wicket taker in One Day Internationals.
