Black Caviar claims Royal Ascot glory

Australia's champion sprinter Black Caviar has survived a finishing post scare to claim the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Leading the race almost from the start, jockey Luke Nolen set the great mare free with 600m remaining and it appeared as though she would streak away to a commanding victory.

As the finishing post neared, Nolen eased up expecting Black Caviar to roll on as she normally would. But the effects of the slow strack seemed to take its toll and the champion was nearly swamped in a photo finish.
