Maria Sharapova has become only the tenth women in tennis history to record a career grand slam, after winning her first French Open title.
Sharapova regained the world No1 ranking with her success at Roland Garros marking an incredible fighback from career-threatening shoulder surgery in May 2009.
The 2012 French Open crown has been proudly added to her 2004 Wimbledon title, her 2006 US Open and 2008 Australian Open trophies.
