Gold Coast sizzles for V8 party

If this year's Gold Coast 600 has proven one thing, it's that sun, sand and high octane motorsport combine for a brilliant party.

The event wrapped-up with a massive concert on the tourist strip overnight, ending a three-day spectacular that was capped by Ford driver Will Davison's victory.

V8 Supercars chiefs are now lobbying the Queensland Government to guarantee funding for the race. The current deal expires next year.
