Roar's Ange Postecoglou says he's not keen on video replays despite his side missing out on a goal.

Brisbane Roar coach Ange Postecoglou is not keen on introducing goal line technology despite his side missing out on a clear, third goal in Friday's 2-0 A-League victory over Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium.

With the Roar leading 2-0, thanks to two goals either side of halftime from Dutch striker Sergio Van Dijk, Mitch Nicholls looked to have sealed the victory in the 63rd minute when his fierce drive hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced over the line.

But the goal was not given and had Adelaide striker Lloyd Owusu converted a 70th-minute penalty that was saved by Griffin McMaster, the result could have been very different.

Despite the decision going against his side, Postecoglou said he is not in favour of using video replays.

"The naked eye is good enough. I saw it from the halfway line," he said.

"It didn't cost us anything."

Postecoglou also admitted his first win since taking over from Frank Farina last month was a huge relief as his side ended a shocking run of form that has seen them take just one point out of a possible 15 in their last five games.

However, the former young Socceroos coach refused to get carried away by the result which saw Brisbane leapfrog Adelaide and move into seventh place on the ladder.

"The way the season has gone, I don't think any result is going to be any more significant with plenty of games still to play," said Postecoglou.

"Hopefully for us, that's the end of our bad trot."

Adelaide coach Aurelio Vidmar was upbeat about his team's performance, but said poor finishing again cost them dearly.

"Sometimes this season we've played better than last season," he said.

"But we're just not putting the goals away."
