Dual Brisbane premiership star Daniel Bradshaw says the wound is still raw following former teammate Michael Voss's decision to try and trade him.

Bradshaw walked out on the Lions last month, several days after the club's failed attempt to move him to Carlton as part of the deal that eventually saw Brendan Fevola join Brisbane.

Bradshaw trained on Thursday with Sydney, the club he is set to officially join following the AFL pre-season draft on December 15.

The 222-game veteran key forward looks a perfect fit for Sydney following the departure of Michael O'Loughlin and Barry Hall.

Courted by Carlton and Sydney, Bradshaw says the Swans' deal suited him better.

"It's fair to say I probably wasn't over the moon about it," Bradshaw said of being offered up to the Blues as part of the Fevola deal.

"I didn't really see it coming. It was a bit of a shock.

"I guess these things happen nowadays. Footy is a business and the club has got to look after itself.

"I probably thought two months ago Brisbane was going to be the team where I'd end my career.

"That's the way footy is now and I've sort of moved on from that.

"I've just got to look forward to getting down to Sydney and playing with them."

Asked if he could repair his relationship with Voss - who replaced Leigh Matthews as Lions coach last year - the 496-goal forward said: "Yeah, I'd like to think so."

"It's still pretty raw at the moment," Bradshaw said.

"It has only been a few weeks. I'm not really thinking too much about that.

"I'll let that happen when it happens.

"All my concentration at the moment is moving the family down to Sydney and getting stuck into training with the Swans.

"It's a bit of a logistical nightmare, just trying to organise where to live and schools. There's a lot of things you've got to think about.

"I've got four kids. The sooner we can get down to and get settled in, the better off we're going to be."

Bradshaw admitted he had already looked up the draw for 2010.

"I've had a quick look. I think it's round six and round 22 (against the Lions)," he said.

Bradshaw spoke with ex-Lion Craig Bolton, the Swans co-captain, before making the move and says having Sydney's chief executive Andrew Ireland and assistant coach John Blakey as former Lions staff is also helpful.

"I know I'm nearly 31 but the body feels really good and mentally I feel good," he said.
