Glory confident of success in NZ
14:42 AEST Wed Nov 4 2009

Perth striker Mile Sterjovski is confident the Glory can come away with the spoils in Sunday's A-League clash with Wellington in New Zealand.

A 35-metre Leo Bertos wonder-strike sunk Perth 2-1 at Westpac Stadium in round two but Sterjovski said the Glory's spirited performance in that match gave them confidence they could get the job done this time around.

"In the first game we played against Wellington we should have beaten them and I think we are going to go there with that in mind and with a bit more motivation," Sterjovski said on Wednesday.

Perth's three-game losing streak has seen them slip to fifth on the table but Sterjovski felt the slump was an inaccurate reflection on how they had actually performed.

"I didn't feel like we deserved to lose all three," he said.

"Definitely against Gold Coast we were the better team and against Melbourne in the first half we played quite well and created a few chances and it would have been a different game if we put those chances away.

"But in saying that Melbourne are a great team, for me they are the best the team in the A-League.

"But we have to turn things around this weekend."

Serbian striker Branko Jelic is expected to return to the starting XI for Perth after missing last Sunday's 2-1 loss to Melbourne with a stomach bug.
