Oliver suspended at Moonee Valley

Damien Oliver will appeal the severity of a 10-meeting careless riding suspension which soured his winning treble at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Unless he is successful in having time shaved off his penalty, Oliver will miss the ride on Australian Oaks winner Royal Descent in Saturday week's Group One Turnbull Stakes.

Oliver is seeking a release from his weekend mounts so he can start the ban immediately.

The jockey's treble included victory on the Gai Waterhouse-trained Divine Calling in the Group Two Bill Stutt Stakes.

He rode Mr Moet to fourth in the Group Three JRA Plate in which he was suspended for causing interference to Talent Show passing the winning post the first time.
