Footballer makes tackle with face

A player has sacrificed three teeth to tackle an opponent with his face during a football clash in Argentina.

The hard-fought 0-0 draw between rivals Argentinos and Boca Juniors featured typical South American attacking flare and no-nonsense defence, but the effort by Boca' s Gaspar Iniguez was something completely out of the ordinary.

Moving to meet a threatening run by an Argentinos opponent, Iniguez appeared to stumble, heading towards the turf as he struggled to regain his balance. His fall could not have been more perfectly timed nor placed if he had actually meant to collect the player's boot in his mouth.

The referee showed the bloodied-mouth defender no sympathy, handing him a yellow card for the challenge. Dazed, confused and in need of a dentist, Iniguez wasn't aware later that he had received the caution.
