AFL stars return ahead of round one
18:26 AEST Wed Mar 13 2013

Brisbane will be close to full strength for Friday night's AFL pre-season final against Carlton, with Jack Redden and Matt Maguire returning to the side.

Former Carlton captain Chris Judd will also start on the bench in his first match this year.

Brisbane have left out ruckman Matthew Leuenberger, but are confident his leg injury is only a minor calf problem.

Geelong and Collingwood will gear up for their round-one games by including several stars as well in their Friday afternoon match at Simonds Stadium.

The Cats recalled Jimmy Bartel, James Podsiadly, Harry Taylor, Mitch Duncan and Jared Rivers.

They also left out Steve Johnson and James Kelly, who will miss the round-one blockbuster against arch-rivals Hawthorn because of suspension.

Top midfielders Dane Swan and Scott Pendlebury lead the Magpies' inclusions, with Harry O'Brien also back in the side after he missed last weekend because of illness.

Travis Cloke and Heath Shaw will also play against the Cats.
