Wests Tigers prop Mosese Fotuaika has been found dead at the age of 20, according to reports.
A NSW police spokesman said police were called to a town house in Merrylands about 6.50pm last night.
"Afterwards a 20-year-old man was found deceased inside the premises," the spokesman said.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner."
Fotuaika was a member of the Tigers' under-20 team which took out the 2012 premiership, The Daily Telegraph reports.
The promising player looked set to make his NRL debut after playing in the senior side at recent NRL trial matches.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Wests Tigers staff confirmed the news in a post on the club's official Facebook page.
"Thoughts and prayers go out to the wests tigers own Moses Fotuaika and his family during this very difficult time may god help them and watch over them!!," the post reportedly read.
The post has since been removed but fans and teammates have taken to Twitter to mourn the New-Zealand born player.
"RIP Moses absolutely shattered, gone too young," Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods posted.
