NSW Waratahs lock Ollie Atkins has been cited for tackling Melbourne's Luke Jones in the air during last Saturday's Super Rugby trial win over the Rebels in Hobart.

The 24-year-old, who was recruited from the Western Force, tackled Jones in the sixth minute as he leapt for the ball in a lineout.

Atkins will face a hearing at the Australian Rugby Union headquarters in Sydney on Wednesday morning.
