Top apprentice Chad Schofield has fallen foul of stewards at Caulfield on Saturday, incurring a suspension for careless riding.
The boom apprentice, who is indentured to David Hayes, was outed for 10 meetings for interference to Rowland when he rode Whisper Downs in the Champagne Pommery Handicap (2000m).
Schofield can return to the saddle on February 6, ahead of the C F Orr Stakes meeting at Caulfield three days later.
Last season's champion Sydney apprentice has had a successful season in Melbourne with 18 metropolitan wins to sit in the top 10 in the jockeys' premiership.
