Singapore apprentice Wong Wei Xiang has died from injuries received in a trackwork fall at Kranji.

The 25-year-old was taken to hospital after the fall on Thursday morning but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Wong was riding a horse for his master Stephen Gray when the accident occurred.

A graduate of the Singapore Training Academy, Wong had been an apprentice jockey for almost a year.

The Singapore Turf Club is extending support to Wong's family and will conduct an investigation into the incident.
