Joel Griffiths expected to join Sydney FC
19:43 AEST Thu Dec 13 2012

Sydney FC are expected to announce the signing of Joel Griffiths to the A-League club on Friday.

It's understood the 33-year-old, who had been playing with Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua, will link up with his brother Adam at the club.

Griffiths, three-times capped for the Socceroos, has had a successful run in Asia since 2008, scoring 36 goals in 103 games for clubs such as Avispa Fukuoka (Japan), Beijing Guoan and Shanghai.

New Sydney coach Frank Farina had indicated he was keen on bolstering the club's goal-scoring stocks.
