South Africa's Lions say they will play against Russia, Samoa and French and US clubs in the absence of Super 15 action next year after being relegated.
The Lions open their season against Russia's national team at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on January 19.
The 2011 Currie Cup champions also play Namibia away on February 23 and Samoa at home on June 1 in a 16-game schedule to prepare for the Super 15 promotion-relegation series in July and August, which will decide if they win back their place.
The Lions also face French clubs Agen, Montpellier and Grenoble and go on a three-match tour of the United States and Canada, with two games against a US Invitational side and one against Chicago Lions.
