McCaw wants big finish to Test year
15:27 AEST Sat Nov 24 2012

Skipper Richie McCaw is hunting two memorable performances from the All Blacks before he starts his six-month rugby sabbatical.

McCaw believes the New Zealanders, who face Wales in Cardiff on Sunday morning (NZ time), haven't hit their peak this year and he would love not to look back on 2012 with any regrets.

"We've done a lot of good things this year but I don't think we've reached our potential," he said.

"Everyone has had a crack so far in the past two games and we've played alright in bits, but we want to put together a much better performance over the 80 minutes."

Coach Steve Hansen has gone for a full-strength line-up for the Welsh Test, after having rotated the squad for the wins over Scotland and Italy.

McCaw sat out the match in Rome and is eager to get back out on the field for his 115th cap.

"I hate watching when you could have been out there playing, but I understand it was for the right reasons," he said.

"The boys did a good job and I get the chance again this week and I'm looking forward to it."

Wales haven't beaten New Zealand in 59 years.

The reigning Six Nations champions are also trying to snap a five-Test losing streak and McCaw is expecting them to be fired up at Millennium Stadium.

"Put yourself in those shoes - having lost a couple, I know exactly how I'd feel, so that's what we're expecting," he said.

"If we can put them under pressure and find some cracks there, then that would be good, but we'll have to work for it."

The All Blacks complete their European tour against England at Twickenham next weekend.
