Players in the Italian Handball League get up close and personal during fiercely contested matches, where close marking is key to preventing goals, but defender Ivan Stuffer lost it completely when his opponent gave him a simple peck on the cheek.

Pasquale Maione, perhaps frustrated by the lack of personal space, perhaps attracted to Stuffer’s cologne, leant over and kissed his antagonist on the cheek. Video of the incident shows Stuffer’s violent reaction, shoving Maione onto his back on the court.

The referee was forced to intervene as pushing and shoving ensued between players from both teams. Stuffer was sent off for his vicious shove and copped a rousing reception from the home crowd.

Upset at the perceived injustice he proceeded to drop his shorts, clutch at his manhood and gesture towards the fans.
