SANZAR to address Argentina crowd lasers
06:05 AEST Tue Oct 9 2012

Governing body SANZAR will question the Argentina Rugby Union about opposition players being targeted with laser beams by Pumas supporters.

SANZAR chief executive Greg Peters has reacted to two incidents in Tests involving Argentina - against Australia in Rosario on Sunday (AEST) and against the All Blacks in La Plata a week earlier.

In both matches members of the crowd flashed a laser beam at players to distract them while they were lining up shots at goal.

Five-eighth Kurtley Beale and New Zealand-born fullback Mike Harris were the Wallabies affected while reserve back Aaron Cruden was the All Black targeted.

New Zealander Peters described the incidents as unacceptable and told news agency AFP they would be addressed.

"The situation will be part of our operational review of the match and will be taken up with the Union Argentina de Rugby," he said.

The incidents were played down by both visiting teams, who went on to win the respective Tests.

Cruden told journalists he had never experienced anything like it.

"It's a bit of a shame when things like that happen but you've just got to sort of be the bigger man and put it past you I suppose," he said.
