Green Moon has continued a stellar day for one of Australian racing's biggest owners with Group One success in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington.

Despite sitting three-wide without cover on the speed under Craig Williams, the Lloyd Williams-owned Green Moon controlled the race in the straight to hold out his stablemate Seville.

In an all European finish December Draw edged out former Italian galloper Voila Ici for the minor placing.

Williams also enjoyed success at Randwick on Saturday with another import, the seven-year-old Mourayan, while Tanby won a Turnbull Stakes day support race at Flemington.

"Dad's been in the game for 50 years and I dare say it's been one of his better days," the owner's son Nick Williams said.
