Ever felt cheated? NFL star swears by it

An NFL star is facing a huge dressing down - and a likely massive fine - after an expletive-laden outburst aimed at referees.

TJ Lang, who plays as a guard for the Green Bay Packers, took to Twitter moments after his side suffered a controversial 14-12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

"Got f----d by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl," he wrote to his 68,642 followers.

The Packers were leading the match when so-called 'replacement officials' made a final-play call that gave the Seahawks a touchdown.

The National Football Legue's regular referees are currently on strike as they fight for better pay.

While referees in other sporting codes in America are paid as much as $140,000 per year, NFL referees get between $25,000 and $70,000.

The Packers' loss sparked an immediate firestorm on social media that was fuelled further when Lang refused to apologise for his outburst.

"F--k it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs," he tweeted.

NFL officials are yet to respond.
