Essendon have lost football operations manager Paul Hamilton, with Danny Corcoran to take over the job.
Hamilton, who has been in the role since 2008, will stay with the Bombers until the end of the year to help out with player contracting.
"It is disappointing that Paul will be leaving us but we appreciate that he has made a decision to further develop his career and explore other opportunities," chief executive Ian Robson said.
"We are pleased Paul has agreed to stay with the club for the upcoming free agency, trade and draft periods to oversee important TPP (total player payment) and player contract matters."
Corcoran was the Bombers' people and development manager.
He has had a previous stint as their football operations manager in the early 1990s and has since spent time in other sporting administration jobs, including a six-year stint as chief executive of Athletics Australia.
