Cats' Wojcinski confirms AFL retirement
18:13 AEST Tue Sep 18 2012

Geelong veteran David Wojcinski has become the second Cats' AFL triple-premiership player to confirm his retirement within a week.

The speedy backman, who turned 32 on Tuesday, played 203 AFL games for the Cats, including the 2007, 2009 and 2011 premierships.

But he managed just four AFL games this year and will end his career after representing the Cats' reserves in Sunday's VFL grand final.

"It's been so much fun playing here, but I think it is the right time," Wojcinski told the Cats' website.

"The body has struggled a bit this year and I think it is the right time to go out."

Wojcinski's exit follows last week's retirement announcement by Geelong defensive great Matthew Scarlett.

It leaves seven Cats still with the club who have played in their past three flags.
