Radio host falls asleep during interview
08:00 AEST Thu Sep 13 2012

An American sports broadcaster has discovered the pitfalls of simulcasting his radio show on TV after falling asleep during an interview.

Mike Francesa, who became famous for his knowledge of college basketball and football in the 1980s, now hosts his own show Mike's On: Francesa on the FAN.

During a recent program he is seen slowly falling asleep as he listens to a New York Yankees reporter updating listeners on the state of the Bronx Bombers.

Francesa's expression is priceless as he wakes, but after confirming the reporter was still on the line he proves his professionalism by seamlessly continuing the interview.

The footage has now gone viral on the internet, prompting some viewers to suggest his program should be re-named Mike's On: But no-one's home.
