Manly to give Lyon to last minute
16:37 AEST Mon Sep 10 2012

Manly are expected to name co-captain Jamie Lyon for Friday night's NRL semi-final clash with North Queensland with scans revealing his calf injury to be not as bad as first thought.

Lyon seemed at long odds to be fit for the sudden-death clash after limping off midway through the first half of the qualifying final loss to Canterbury.

He pulled up well after the weekend and with scans on Monday morning revealing only minor damage, he will be given until game day to prove his fitness.

The Sea Eagles will be desperate to have Lyon on deck with fellow centre Steve Matai likely to miss the Cowboys clash after he was charged over a high tackle on Bulldogs winger Sam Perrett.

Matai will miss just one game with an early plea.

Sea Eagles prop and co-captain Jason King is free to play despite being charged in relation to a high tackle on Aiden Tolman.
