Golf and rugby sevens will be undoubted Olympic successes, Australian Olympic Committee president John Coates says.
The sports will debut at the 2016 Rio Games and Coates, also an International Olympic Committee member, says they will be Olympic winners.
"Golf have given us assurances that the best players are going to be available, internationally that there will be no major competitions up against the dates of the Olympics," Coates said on Sunday.
"And I have had discussions with both Golf Australia and the PGF (Professional Golfers Federation) and they're desperate to get the best people in.
"I think that will be a great success."
Rugby sevens had the potential to attract more nations to the Olympics, he said.
"It's just a great spectacle watching rugby sevens for a day," Coates said.
"And it's a sport for women as well.
"It has the potential to open up a teams sport to countries that otherwise don't make it to teams sports that we have now.
"Kenya have been third in the world in sevens rugby, of course you have got Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, so I hope there is a place for them."
