A German diver scored a perfect zero after bungling a dive and flopping into the water on his back at the London Olympic Games.
Stephan Feck was competing in the men's three-metre springboard qualifying rounds last night when he launched himself into a forward 3 1/2 somersault pike on his second dive.
But the 22-year-old lost the grip on one of his legs and went spinning uncontrollably.
He landed on his back with a loud splat, which was followed by a groan from the crowd.
Each judge gave the 22-year-old a score of zero and he appeared to be in pain as he emerged from the pool.
He withdrew from the competition after completing another dive.
