Australian Shane Perkins is into the sprint semi-finals at Olympic track cycling after a solid win over American Jimmy Watkins.
Perkins beat Watkins two heats to one on Sunday, but now faces a formidable assignment against Gregory Bauge.
The French star has also looked very impressive in the sprint so far and he had little trouble taking care of German Robert Forstemann.
The semis and the medals for the men's sprint will be decided on Monday, with the competition so far progressing without a major upset.
British rider Jason Kenny, the fastest qualifier, will face fourth-fastest Trinidad rider Njisane Phillip in the other semi.
Bauge was the second-fastest for the flying 200m in qualifying and Perkins was third.
