Tagir Khaibulaev of Russia won the men's 100-kilogram Olympic judo gold medal with Russian President Vladimir Putin and British Prime Minister David Cameron looking on.
Khaibulaev defeated defending champion Tuvshinbayar Naidan of Mongolia with a match-ending throw that Putin and Cameron both stood to applaud.
The bronze medals were won by Dimitri Peters of Germany and Henk Grol of the Netherlands.
