Evergreen stallion Zabeel remains at the top of the tree as he prepares to begin his 22nd season at New Zealand's Cambridge Stud.
He added another string to his bow at the end of the 2011/12 season as the leading broodmare sire in both Australia and New Zealand.
Zabeel has twice been Australia's leading sire and has won four New Zealand premierships but this year is the first time he has landed a broodmare title.
His daughters produced three Group One winners in Australia headed by the unbeaten Atlantic Jewel who was joined by Invest and Southern Speed while in New Zealand his legacy included Silent Achiever and Planet Rock.
He has also been named the winner for the 15th time of the Dewar Stallion Trophy which recognises the New Zealand stallion whose progeny have won the most prizemoney in Australasia for the season.
His son Zabeelionaire's win in the South Australian Derby in May provided Zabeel with his 42nd individual Group One winner, just three shy of his own sire Sir Tristram's record.
Included in Zabeel's first season crop foaled in 1992 was champion Octagonal with another Australian Horse of the Year Might And Power produced the following year.
The 26-year-old stallion will serve a restricted book of mares at $NZ100,000 plus GST in the 2012 spring.
