'Contender' winner Bika wants crack at Green

At least one Australian boxer wants a crack at Danny Green - and for once it's not Anthony Mundine.

Former super middleweight world title contender Sakio Bika has thrown down a challenge to three-division world title winner Green, following the latter's fifth-round stoppage of American Danny Santiago in Perth on Wednesday.

Green, 39, is undecided about whether to continue his illustrious career, though there is talk he could fight WBA light-heavyweight world champion Beibut Shumenov.

When contacted by AAP on Friday, Green said by SMS he had no comment to make on a possible contest with Bika as he was still enjoying this week's victory.

Cameroon-born, Sydney-based Bika, 33, certainly boasts the credentials to be a testing opponent for Green.

He has a creditable 30-5 record, with 21 KOs, with four of those losses to four world champions and the other against tricky Australian Sam Soliman.

Bika shot to prominence by winning The Contender American reality TV boxing show in its 2008 season.

Earlier this month, he underlined his danger factor with a second round stoppage of American Dyah Davis, who had an impressive 21-2-1 record.

While he is currently operating a couple of divisions below Green, Bika is more than happy to step up to an unfamiliar division.

"I'm a super middleweight who can fight at light heavyweight and if he (Green) wants to have a fight at cruiserweight, I can fight at cruiserweight," Bika told AAP.

"If Danny Green is ready to fight one of the best Australians in Australia, let's do it.

"I've had fights on boxing shows on (American cable television networks) Showtime and HBO and people around the world know me."
