Highly-rated teenage batsman Kurtis Patterson will lead NSW's next generation of cricketers this summer after being handed a state contract amid a host of high-profile departures.

In other changes, all-rounder Sean Abbott has been upgraded from a rookie contract, while Australian under-19 representatives Harry Conway and Gurinder Sandhu receive their first rookie deals.
