Intruder interrupts AFL game
22:12 AEST Sat Jul 7 2012

A male intruder was able to run all the way to the centre circle before being tackled by a security guard during the last quarter of Saturday night's AFL match between St Kilda and Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

Eventually the umpire called a halt as security staff wrestled the man from the field.

The incident followed another in the first quarter when a woman carrying a crucifix walked along the boundary line before being intercepted.
