Coach-rider duo Daniel McConnell and Rebecca Henderson have been named as Australia's mountain bike representatives for the London Olympics.
McConnell, 26, beat the controversial Chris Jongewaard to the sole men's spot in the team.
Australia's top ranked rider at No.41, McConnell is 12 places ahead of Jongewaard, who was kicked out of the 2008 Beijing team following a hit-run incident for which he served seven months in jail.
With only one spot available in London, Jongewaard looked a strong chance of finally getting to the Olympics late last year.
But McConnell swept past him when he won this year's Australian title and Oceania Continental Championship to secure his place at his second Games.
His protege Henderson, 20, is currently second on the under-23 World Cup standings, but 55th overall.
Neither are likely to challenge for the medals in London.
