Rohan Dennis has become the first Australian to win Germany's International Thuringen Tour.

ZEULENRODA-TRIEBES, Germany, June 16 AAP - South Australian Rohan Dennis has become the first Australian to win Germany's International Thuringen Tour in the cycling event's 37-year history.

The 22-year-old Jayco-AIS rider crossed the line safely in the lead bunch at the end of the final stage, a hilly 143km course around the town of Zeulenroda-Triebes.

Frenchman Johan Le Bon finished second overall, 28 seconds behind Dennis with Dutch rider Marc Goos of Rabobank a further 28 seconds back in third place.

Dennis' focus will now turn back to the track as he joins Australia's endurance squad for the London Olympics in a pre-Games training camp.

In the Netherlands, fellow London Olympian Tasmanian Amy Cure won the second stage of the Star Zeeland Islands to grab the overall lead with one stage to race.
