Two Dragons out for Broncos clash
19:43 AEST Wed Aug 13 2008

Fullback Brett Morris and five-eighth Jamie Soward have been ruled out with injury for St George Illawarra's NRL clash with Brisbane on Friday night at Suncorp Stadium.

Wendell Sailor, who comes into the side for Morris, is keen to front up against his former club and put in a better performance than when the sides last met in round 13.

In his comeback game to the NRL following a two-year drug ban, Sailor suffered a fractured cheekbone, a sour note in his side's 28-10 win.

"It's good to be heading home and taking on the Broncos again," Sailor told the Dragons website.

"I'll be looking to come out of the game better than I did earlier this year but I'm definitely looking forward to it."

Mid-season recruit Ben Rogers has been named at five-eighth and will play his first NRL game since round four, when he was playing for South Sydney.

"I'm excited and more than ready to play this Friday night," Rogers said.

"I knew when I came to the Dragons I needed to be patient and I'll be giving it my all on Friday night."

Sailor has played just three NRL matches this year and has not played first grade since a 25-minute cameo off the bench for the Dragons against the Bulldogs in round 20.

In other news, the Dragons have confirmed the signing of Canberra Raiders backrower Neville Costigan on a two-year deal.

The former Queensland State of Origin forward will re-unite with his former coach Wayne Bennett when he arrives at the Dragons for season 2009.

Costigan was sacked by the Broncos in 2006 following a drink driving incident.

"Being able to rejoin Wayne next year will be great," said Costigan, who has signed with the Dragons until the end of season 2010.

"I've got a lot of respect for him so it will be good to be back together at the Dragons."

Costigan, 23, has played 65 games in the NRL after making his debut for Brisbane against the Dragons in Round 26 of 2003.
